No chief guest in Republic day 2022. Fifth time in history when no chief guest will be there in Republic day. First chief guest was Sukarno the then president of Indonesia. The role of calling chief guest in foreign diplomacy of a country. India and central asian countries trade is merely $4 bn where as trade between Central asia and china is $40 bn. In India's history this will be the fifth time India will have no chief guest in republic day. In 1966 because of unprecedented death of Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri in tashkant India did not call any chief guest. In 2018 for the first time India call 10 chief guest and they were member of ASEAN.
