 A ship named EverGiven stuck in Suez Canal due to strong winds that blow from desert area Importance of Suez Canal can be understand by the following stats :

12% of global trade passes through Suez Canal

10% of Seaborne oil trade  passes through Suez Canal

8% of global LNG  passes through Suez Canal

This is not the first time that this canal get block in 1967 Egypt and its neighbouring countries had a infamous war with the Israel with is known as 6-days war in which Israel annexed the Sinai Peninsula of Egypt. Egypt does not want that Israel take toll tax from ships for passing through Suez Canal. So Egypt applied scorched-earth policy (i.e. a scorched-earth policy is a military strategy that aims to destroy anything that might be useful to the enemy. The practice can be carried out by the military in enemy territory or in its own home territory while it is being invaded) and it takes 8 years to clear the wreck from the canal.

 

In present time there are 2 bottle necks which limits the size of the ships first is Suez Canal and the other is Panama Canal. Panamax are the ships which can cross the Panama Canal.

Double Mutant Variant of Covid discover in India 

A double mutant variant of Corona virus is found in 18 states of India. Presently India is at 3rd position with the deaths of  1.6 lakhs people USA is at top with deaths of 5.5 lakhs people followed by Brazil with 3 lakhs people.

Our organ system is made up of organs ,organs are made of  tissues ,tissues are made up of cells and cells consists of genomes. Virus also have genome even though they are not considered as living. If the genome contains RNA then it is called RNA virus and if its genome contains DNA then it is called DNA virus. Virus replicates itself when it is inside a host's cell. Virus replicates itself in trillion as multicellular organism contains trillions of cells. So during the process of replicating sometimes the genome of the virus get altered and hence a mutated form of virus came into being. Some scientists believe that mutation is a part of evolution whereas others believes it as a error that happens by mistake.

 In double mutation the virus get mutated for 2 times from the original virus. INSACOG (Indian SARS-COV-2 Consortium on Genomics) is a group of 10 laboratories which work under Ministry of Health. INSACOG discovered this new variant in India. Suddenly the number of cases hiked in India this new variant can be one of the reason for that. Till now no conformation is made by the government whether this new variant is more deadly or more infectious than the original virus.

World happiness report of 2021 is released and Finland top it for the 4th consecutive year. This report is released by UN Sustainable Development Solution Network. The parameters used for preparing this report are life expectancy ,social support ,income ,freedom ,trust, health, generosity. In 2021 management of Corona virus is also included.

India's rank is 139 out of 149 countries  in 2020 India's rank was 144 out of 156 countries and in 2019 India' s rank was 140. If we look only at the rank then we will say that 

India is improving but we have to see that India position from backward then we will find that India is not improving rather deteriorating.

USA's rank is 19 and the difference between the rich and poor is increasing for which the poor are not very happy which lower down their overall score.

Nordic countries rank so high on the happiness report because they have things like free education and healthcare, low crime rates, cushy social security nets, a relatively homogeneous population and they're fairly prosperous.
